Biography
John has been a trial lawyer for 33 years, specializing in technology and patent litigation. He has first-chaired trials in federal district courts and at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. Most of his time has been spent in the San Francisco Bay Area representing clients such as Uber Technologies, NETGEAR Inc., Box Inc. and D-Link Systems.
John practices with Reed Smith LLP. He is a former member of Reed Smith’s Executive Committee, the firm’s global governing board. He has been selected as one of the Top Intellectual Property Litigators in California by the Daily Journal. John received his AB from the University of Michigan in 1987 and his JD from the University of Wisconsin in 1990.
