Outstanding Clinical or Skills Teaching Award

Rules, Process, and Nomination Instructions

Who’s Eligible

All full-time clinical and skills teaching staff. This includes all legal writing staff and any full-time clinicians at the law school clinics. If you are not sure if someone is eligible, check with Associate Dean Spence, spence@lclark.edu

Decision-Making Process

Nominations will be reviewed by the Dean and any others he may at his discretion appoint to be involved in the process. A nomination may be carried over from one decision-making period to another. This means that a nomination that does not result in an immediate award does not mean the nomination might not eventually result in an award.

Although the number of nominations received by a professor will be a factor to consider, this award is not strictly about the number of nominations received. By its nature clinical and skills teaching involve a very low student/faculty ratio. This means that individual nominations that are particularly compelling can lead to an award.

Timing of Decisions

Decisions on awards will be made twice a year, once in October and once in February. Announcements of the awards will be made in November and in March

Timing of Nominations
